Things I’ve Googled

Three cheers for Friday! Getting sick this week put a little crinkle in my dress, but all is good now. A lot of my Google searches the last couple of days were things I thought about while in recovery mode, zoning out to Netflix and Hulu. On that note, anyone else planning a House of Cards marathon this weekend? Whatever you are up to, I hope it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Here’s a shortlist of things I have Googled this week.

What do you call it when you make an emoji typo?
You know, when you mean to send a 😍 and you send a 🐷 by accident? A few ideas from Twitter include ohnoji and typoji. I’m absolutely adding these to my vocabulary.

Why are primary elections held on different days?
It’s written into New Hampshire state law that they get to go first. The focus on New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina as the first four states to caucus/vote is to give racial and regional diversity, and to give equal opportunity to candidates with varying sized campaign budgets. This Washington Post article was helpful.

How much is the Full House house worth?
Oh, $3 million. This fun article in People magazine covered the topic for both the San Francisco home on Full House and the New York Friends apartment.

What happened to Jess on New Girl?
Did I fall asleep and miss something? I guess I missed the jury duty episode that explained that Jess would be leaving for six episodes. Megan Fox is now guest starring and while she is certainly pretty to look at, I’m just not that into it. I feel bad for typing this. I’m sorry Schmidt. It’s not you, it’s me… ok, maybe it’s you.

Military alphabet
We were talking about Tina Fey’s new movie Whiskey Tango Foxtrot at my parents’ house last weekend (or perhaps just the title) and then quizzed each other on the entire military alphabet. A few that stumped us: November, Papa, and Uniform.

Things I’ve Googled is an ongoing series and comes from one of the standard questions Jim and I ask each other when we get home. Often, it’s a good indicator of where our minds have wandered off to in the middle of the day and the topics usually make us laugh. So consider this part educational. Part oversharing. Part nonsense. Completely random.

  1. HOUSE OF CARDS! I totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder. I think this is your best Things I’ve Googled yet. 😍 Love the ohnoji/typoji. That one’s a real revelation for me. 😂
