“The ‘star’ in starting over” Sarah Kay

Earlier this week, I came across the beautiful work of poet, Sarah Kay. She shared her poem, “B” at a TED talk in 2011, “If I should have a daughter“…

Read it. Watch it. Such meaningful, clever prose illustrates emotions of determination and persistence. Choose your own message from it. Of course, this was mine:

“You will put the “wind” in win some lose some, you will put the “star” in starting over and over, and no matter how many land mines erupt in a minute be sure your mind lands on the beauty of this funny place called life.”

If you keep watching, Sarah talks about the power of spoken word poetry and finding creativity through making lists. (Yes!)

Thank you Sarah. I really felt that, too.
